Our journey began as a family business after the lockdown when the world was forced into difficult decisions. Like many, we faced uncertainty, and our path into the business world was unexpected. It all started with a huge collection of reject clothing that my father acquired in a business deal. Unfortunately, things didn’t turn out well for the seller, and we ended up with the clothes he had been dealing with. With no experience in the field, our family was suddenly thrust into a new reality, driven by necessity rather than choice.

Our storeroom was filled with clothes piled high, and together as a family, we scrambled to find ways to sell them. We tried various methods and eventually discovered online marketplaces like Takealot.com and Bobshop (then Bid or Buy). These platforms became our lifeline as we worked tirelessly to clear as much as we could. It was a challenging time, but it taught us resilience and the importance of adapting to change.

With the money we earned from selling the clothing, we began to see the demand for affordable tech products. This realization led us to pivot and focus on what we saw as a growing need in the market. From there, Gadgetize was born. We built our own website to offer our carefully curated selection of tech accessories, ensuring that our customers could find high-quality products at prices that made sense.
